Microbiological preparation effective against fungal and bacterial plant diseases. Active ingredient: Bacillus subtilis strain IPM 215. Manufacturer: CJSC Firm "August" (Russia). Chemical class: bacterial fungicide. Exposure rate - from the moment of treatment during the day.
Available as:
- wetting powder BA-10000 U/g, titer not less than 2 billion spores/g
- suspension concentrate BA-10000 ЕА/mL, titer 100 mln. cells/g
- for use at home or in the garden is available in a package of 10 g, 40 g
Mechanism of action: contact, Bacillus subtilis bacteria of this strain IPM 215 synthesize an antibiotic that suppresses the activity of pathogenic fungi.
Bactofit - instructions
Biofungicide is used to suppress and destroy plant disease pathogens:

- bacteriosis
- verticillus wilt (wilt)
- root rot
- powdery mildew
- oidium
- peronosporosis (downy mildew)
- septoriosis
- phytophthora
- fusariosis
Bactofit is not recommended for use in tank mixtures; it cannot be mixed with growth stimulants, fertilizers and other fungicides, including phytosporin.
You can harvest for food 3 days after spraying with bactofite.
Methods of application:
- soaking seeds, bulbs and tubers before planting (seeds for a day, bulbs and tubers for 10-30 minutes)
- soaking the root system when transplanting plants (dip, keep in solution for 2 minutes)
- spraying plants on leaves (preferably moistened on both sides of the leaf)
- watering the soil under the bushes during the growing season (dilution of the working solution according to the usual watering rate)
- coadministration with herbicides (reduces toxicogenic soil fungi)
Bactofit consumption rates
- for soaking seeds from mold and other infections 1 ml of suspension or 1 g of powder or per 500 ml of water
- soaking cuttings of garden flowers (carnations, roses) for 15 minutes before planting: 1 g per 1 liter of water
- from powdery dew 10 ml per 10 liters of water for spraying on the sheet
- against powdery mildew, peronosporosis, septoriosis: 20 ml per 10 liters of water for watering bushes
- from oidium grapes: 30 ml of suspension per 10 liters of water - spraying
- from fusariosis, brown rust, phytophthors: 20 ml per 10 liters of water for spraying
- from fusarium, brown rust, phytophthora: 30 ml per 10 liters of water for irrigation
- from fungal spots on indoor and garden flowers: 1 ml per 1 liter of water for spraying
- from root rots on indoor and garden flowers: 3 ml per 1 liter of water for watering
Repeated treatments are required every 7 days, only three times, then the drug must be changed if the disease is not cured or further prevention is required, although manufacturers recommend up to 7-8 treatments, since the drug does not cause resistance.
Responses
Works if used on time
I use baktofit to prevent powdery mildew on cucumbers - the main thing is not to wait for the first spots, but to spray in advance. When the disease appears, the effect is already weaker. Checked: early processing is the key to success.
"Safe even on strawberries"
Processed strawberries at the beginning of flowering and repeatedly before ovary. No burns or strange reaction. The berries are clean, the leaves are green. It is convenient that you do not need to wait a month before collecting - you can collect literally every other day.
"Loves moisture, does not tolerate heat"
There was a case when I sprayed in the heat - zero sense. Later I read that biologics work better at humidity and temperatures up to + 25 ° C. Now I spray early in the morning or in the evening - the effect appeared.
"Saved tomatoes in the greenhouse"
I noticed the first signs of spotting on tomatoes - I carried out 2 treatments with Baktofit with an interval of 5 days. The disease has stopped, the new leaves are clean. The main thing is to process immediately, not to delay.
"Seeds stopped rotting"
I process the seeds of cucumbers and pumpkins before sowing with Baktofit solution - the seedlings are friendly, there is no decay. Previously, it was often encountered that some of the seeds simply did not curl due to rot.
'Soft but effective'
I like that Baktofit does not smell like chemistry and does not burn out plants, as is the case with other fungicides. I use it on seedlings, in open ground, even on indoor plants - I did not notice any stress in the plants.
It should be noted that the biofungicide bactophyte does not provide a guaranteed cure for diseases. Strains of this bacterium are slightly weaker than strains of phytosporin, but the effectiveness of testing the drug is on average 65-70%, if the plant is already sick. This is a very good result, especially in cases where it is not possible to use heavy artillery in the form of chemical fungicides (topaz, chrome, copper sulfate, cuprolux, vectra, etc.), but it is still worth considering this drug as a preventive agent. Its effect on alkaline soils is more pronounced (pH more than 7). The main advantage of the drug is that it does not cause resistance in pathogens and does not pollute the environment.
The manufacturer claims an increase in yield by 10-15%, in fact, if the plants are healthy, and bactophyte is used prophylactically, no increase in yield is reliably known - too many factors affect the result (top dressing, weather, watering, weeding). But if the disease has begun, and the entire crop is under threat, then the use of bactophyte can slow down the effect of the pathogen, which means that it can save berries, fruits and vegetables for you and me.
The protective effect of bactophyte on gray rot infection was noted, especially during periods of adverse weather (rains, coolness).
Of the minuses - the drug is not effective in dry hot weather, for a greater effect it is better to use it when the temperature is about 18-20, humidity is 60-70%.
Another drawback - bacteria Bacillus subtilis strain IPM 215 is toxic to aphidophages, it kills Gallica aphidimiza and Lysiflebus - natural aphid destroyers. Moreover, toxicity is manifested not only from spraying, but also from watering (gets through the gnawed leaves into the body of pests - aphids).
- Recommendation from rukodelie.net/plants: if you have sprayed fruit shrubs, flowers or vegetables from diseases, but dry hot weather has set in the coming days, repeat the treatment with bactofite, but not after 7 days, but after 2-3 days, carry out the procedure in the evening, when the sun has already gone from the site.
Toxicity
Bactophyte has hazard class 4 for humans (can cause slight irritation of the mucous membrane upon contact with a drug or solution) and hazard class 3 for bees (border protection zone for bees 5-6 km). Not phytotoxic. The drug is approved for use in the fishery zone.
Security measures
Treat using gloves, avoid smoking, drinking, eating while working. If it gets on the skin or mucous membranes, wash it off with water, if it gets into the digestive tract, drink 3-4 glasses of water, induce vomiting, take several tablets of activated carbon.
Store the drug in a dry room, optimally from -5 to + 30 ° C, separately from food and medicine, in places inaccessible to children and pets. Shelf life is 6 months. Storage of the working solution for a maximum of 3-4 hours.
