Application and features of tanrek
- Mechanism of action: imidacloprid binds to nerve receptors in the central nervous system of harmful insects, causing paralysis, convulsions and death in them.
- Imidacloprid has systemic activity.
- Tanrek destroys only insects and beetles (weevil, ground beetle), does not affect arthropods (ticks).
- It has a long protective period (up to 30 days).
- Imidacloprid, when absorbed by the roots, enters the leaves, practically does not enter the fruits, therefore it can be used for drip irrigation for growing vegetables.
- Imidacloprid is highly stable in soil (half-life 50-100 days).
- Tanrek's efficiency is independent of temperature.
- The drug is not phytotoxic on garden and garden crops
- Imidacloprid is stable at pH 5 to 7.
- Tanrek can be combined in tank mixtures with the fungicides Skor, Thanos, Topaz, Horus, tick remedies (Omait, Arrivo, Bi-58 new).
- If necessary, it can be combined with Fitosporin.
Tanrek from aphids, whiteflies and Colorado beetle
The manufacturer made a fuss for the most thought-weary gardener and released Tanrek in the same package under different names: one is declared as Tanrek from aphids and whiteflies, the other as Tanrk from the Colorado beetle. In fact, this is the same drug, with the same concentration of the active substance imidacloprid 200 g/l, only the instructions are different - on one norm from aphids, the other from Colorado beetle. I.e. you can buy any drug, it will work the same way.
Tanrek: reviews
Tanrek is, according to rukodelie.net/plants, the best remedy (not counting analogues) in the fight against aphids, especially on currants. The fact is that aphids on currants cause wrinkling of leaves, aphids hide on the back of shrunken leaves like in a house. Spraying with other drugs that do not have systemic actions is ineffective - the solution lies on the surface of the leaf without reaching the pest colonies and without wetting the surface from which they feed. Tanrek can spray bushes from above, the active ingredient penetrates the epidermis and spreads throughout the leaf through the vessels, thus tops and leaves become poisonous to aphids and other pests wherever they hide. However, the systemic effects of Tanrek are much weaker than intestinal contact.
The manufacturer claims that Tanrek is well applied to leaves, does not wash off with rain. It isn't. It depends on the culture - the solution clings well to the smooth leaves of gooseberries and currants, to cucumbers, tomatoes and potatoes with noticeable pubescence - it is bad, you need to spray through a small sprayer, it is better to add adhesives in 2-3 visits (best of all, a 5 ml flea shampoo per 10 liters of water) - it helps against ticks, since to poison, since there are as many pests as possible. In general, the efficacy of Tanrek on a ten-point scale can be assessed by 6-7 points.
Price for Tanrek summer 2016 on average: for a bottle of 10 ml 75-85 rubles, a bottle of 100 ml - 250-280 rubles, ampoules of 1 ml and 1.5 ml - 12-15 rubles.

Pros:
- suitable for spraying and seed dressing
- inexpensive
- smell faint (almost odorless)
- helps within 3-5 days
- protects for 2-3 weeks
- commercially available
- helps against the mass of pests
- kills cockroaches
- sold in small packages and easy to breed
- can be sprayed in cold and hot weather
- can be used as a prophylactic
- kills shield on houseplants
- moderately toxic to earthworms (can be pickled in pots, three times)
Disadvantages:
- doesn't kill ticks
- slightly suppresses mealy worm, but not completely (at least two spraying and watering are required, preferably three)
- possible phytotoxicity for some indoor plants (yellowing of leaves, excess dosage - death)
- beetles have a much worse effect than aphids or whiteflies
- danger to bees when working in the garden
- therefore, you cannot spray strawberries (strawberries)
- there is no measuring scale on the vials, to measure in a small amount, you need to use a syringe
- for spraying, add adhesives (neutral liquid soap)
- suitable for neutral reaction only tank mixtures
- can not be sprayed in the sun, exclusively in the morning or in the evening (leaves can be burned)
Tanrek: flow rates
The consumption rates of the finished Tanrek solution are 10 liters per 100 m2 of leaf mass on herbaceous plants (cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes) and from 2 to 5 liters per tree (depending on age and height), about 1-1.5 liters per shrub of currants and gooseberries.
Dosages: on apple, pear, currant, gooseberry, plum and other cultures, the consumption rate is 3 ml Tanrek per 10 liters of water. Dosages on vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes) - 5 ml per 10 liters of water, spraying potatoes from the Colorado potato beetle: 1 ml per 10 liters of water.
The working solution must not be stored, immediately used after dilution (maximum can stand for 3 hours).
- How to breed Tanrek for spraying Colorado beetle: pour 1 liter of water into a plastic bucket, measure 1 ml of the drug, mix, bring to a volume of 10 liters. Transfer to a sprayer.
- How to breed Tanrek from aphids and whiteflies on fruit trees and shrubs: pour 1 liter of water into a plastic bucket, measure 1.5 ml of the drug, mix, add water to a volume of 5 liters. Transfer to a sprayer. When the solution runs out, dilute the next batch with 5 liters of water.
- How to breed Tanrek from aphids and whiteflies on vegetables: pour 1 liter of water into a plastic bucket, measure 5 ml of the drug, mix, add water to a volume of 10 liters. Transfer to a sprayer.
How to breed Tanrek for indoor flowers: measure the required amount of the drug with a syringe, pour it into a plastic bottle of water. Dosages: for plants 1 ml per 2 liters of water or 5 ml per 10 liters of water. In some plants, yellowing of leaves may occur after spraying, especially plants that have thin delicate leaves, conifers, orchids. It has been noticed that plants of the arlius family (scheffler, fatsia), the gesnerium family (eschinanthus, streptocarpus) are sensitive to tanrek (and analogues). It is worth diluting the drug 0.5 ml into 500 ml of water and spraying one sprig or a pair of leaves. If phytotoxicity is present, yellowing will occur in a day, a maximum of two days. However, other factors that cause yellowing of leaves (drying, overflow, sunburn, fertilization) should be excluded.
Scale insects and mealybugs are direct relatives - they belong to different families of semi-winged insects. However, they have different resistance to imidacloprid and other neonicotinoids (Actare). Scale insects are more sensitive, usually two sprays are enough, 3-5 days apart, to get rid of pests. But worms are more resistant to this group of drugs. In order not to poison yourself and not to depress the plants once again, it is worth using another scheme for treatment from worms and shield: watering with Tanrek under the root (1 ml per 1 liter of water) + spraying with insecticides of the pyrethroid class (Decis) or FOS (Alatar, Fufanon).
Waiting times are the time after processing to harvest 30 days.
Toxicity
Tanrek is dangerous for fish, bees (hazard class 1), beneficial insects, medium toxic for warm-blooded and humans when used orally (if swallowed), the main blow is to the liver, in addition, there may be a violation of the rhythm of breathing and coordination of movement, tremors, diarrhea, convulsions. Urgently induce vomiting, rinse the stomach, seek medical help.
Sometimes, when spraying at home, there is a headache and nausea - in cases where the room is not ventilated.
The half-life in the soil is up to 190 days.
Security measures. Spraying in a respirator, diluting the solution strictly with gloves. Wash your hands with soap after work. Store the drug in a dry, cool room at a temperature of about 5-15S, separate from food and medicine, in places inaccessible to children and pets!
