A description of this rare species of the amaryllis family is provided here for informational purposes only. Traubia modesta is endangered due to habitat destruction and can hardly be attributed even to rare houseplants. It is almost impossible to find seeds or bulbs of this plant on sale. We can only hope that this rare plant will not disappear.

Traubia - Care and Conditions

Habitat: coastal meadows, valleys and gentle slopes of the foothills. The temperature regime in the homeland of Traubia is as follows: daytime temperatures in the summer period are 20-25 ° С, in winter up to -4 ° С. These places are characterized by strong daily temperature fluctuations. Rains are exclusively in winter.

Lighting: Full solar lighting.

Humidity: Like all meadow plants, it is covered with dew daily in the morning and evening.

Soil: Grows on sandy soils. Bulbs completely buried in the ground.

Reproduction: By seed and bulb division.

If you get such a miracle, we advise you to use a small clay pot, with a wide hole at the bottom. Terra vita soil in half with sand and several pieces of charcoal. Watering during the growing season exclusively after drying out the soil - in the upper layers the land should be absolutely dry! Try to pour water closer to the walls of the pot. Do not leave amaryllis in the heat (for example, on a balcony or room on a hot sunny day, when all windows are closed).
