Systemic fungicide. Chemical class of triazoles. Active ingredient: pentonazole, at a concentration of 100 g/L. It is available as an emulsion. Hazard class 3 for humans (moderately hazardous substance) and hazard class 3 for bees. Manufacturer: OOO 'Singenta', Switzerland. Shelf life is 4 years from the date of manufacture.
- mechanism of action of penconazole: suppresses infection at the moment of spore germination and growth tube penetration into leaf tissues.
- acropetal movement of penconazole - spreads through the vascular system beyond the growth point of the plant, i.e. falls into young growing shoots.
- effective in all weather conditions, therefore it is widely used on garden plants and on indoor flowers.
- the fungicidal effect of Topaz manifests itself during the first day, in the next 10-14 days the protective function remains.
- one of the few powerful drugs approved for use in personal subsidiary plots and in an apartment.
- Topaz does not have phytotoxicity.
- the fungicide is effective over a wide range of temperatures, and can be used early in spring.
- can be mixed with other pesticides, suitable for tank mixtures.
Topaz fungicide
The active substance of topaz is highly effective, first of all, against the pathogens of real mealybugs, especially with primary damage. Topaz is also widely used to treat fruit rot, purple spot, mesh spot, gray rot, rust, scab, septoriosis, cercosporellosis, oidium.
The prepared solution is thoroughly sprayed with plants in dry calm weather.
Topaz on grapes and stone fruits (cherries, peaches, apple trees ) is used for the first time before flowering, the second time after flowering. Only 3-4 treatments are allowed.
On vegetables and indoor flowers, Topaz is used at the first signs of the disease.
Topaz on berries is used for the first time at the time of budding, the second time after picking berries . Only 2 treatments are allowed.
The combination of Topaz and Kuproxat is especially successful. It should be borne in mind that the possibility of resistance to fungicide occurs, therefore, in gardens where infections are most common (for example, when unreliable neighbors do not want to treat trees from scab), it is better to alternate Topaz with fungicides from other chemical groups.
Attention, fake! Due to the popularity of the Topaz fungicide, there are many counterfeit products on the market. Marketing managers of Singenta LLC have repeatedly published an official conclusion on the discovery of a fake.
Flow rates
2 mL of Topaz is designed for an average of 10 L for various diseases and only against rust the norm is 4 mL per 10 L of water.
For use on indoor flowers, it is better to dilute Topaz fungicide in a small amount of water. The entire volume of the ampoule should be collected in a 2 ml syringe, and then the required amount should be dosed, for example, 1 ml per 5 liters of water. Store the product remaining in the syringe with the cap closed at room temperature, in the dark and out of reach of children.
It is possible to increase the concentration by no more than 1.5-2 times, i.e. 3-4 mL of Topaz per 10 L of water. At the same time, plants do not feel oppressed. If lethargy of the leaves is manifested, it can be a reaction of a violation in care, for example, to waterlogging of the ground.
Working fluid consumption rates: 2 liters per small tree, up to 5 liters per larger tree, 1.5-2 liters per bush (currants, gooseberries), vegetables - up to 5 liters per weave.
Topaz toxicity
Topaz is moderately toxic to bees and birds. Toxic to some species of fish and aquatic organisms. Penconazole accumulates in the soil, at the beginning of use, the decay period is 14 days, with frequent use up to 21 days. Therefore, it is not recommended to carry out Topaz treatments on one garden plot for more than 3 years (Podgornaya M.E. 'Topaz decomposition dynamics in garden agrocenosis.' Journal of Plant Protection and Quarantine, No. 12, 2003)
Security measures. Gloves should be used when handling the product. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. It is unacceptable to eat, drink and smoke. After work, wash your hands and face thoroughly.
First aid: if the fungicide gets on the skin, wash off with plenty of water; in case of contact with eyes, rinse abundantly with running water; if you get into the digestive tract, drink 3-4 glasses of water, induce vomiting, take several tablets of activated carbon, seek medical help.
