Care for acidity

Temperature: Moderate. Ortgiz sour is found at 16-18 ° C in winter. During the dormant period, Deppe's acidity loses leaves, so pots with its bulbs are kept in a cool place at a temperature of about 8-10 ° C.

Lighting: Very bright place. It should be noted that acidity needs very intense lighting, but direct sun from noon can cause burns. Therefore, it prefers the eastern orientation of the windows. The south and west window (or balcony side) will need light shading.

Watering: In summer, during active growth, watering is plentiful. Since autumn, watering is reduced. Ortgis acid is rarely watered in winter, preventing the soil from only completely drying out. Deppe's nodules of sourness are stored in a cool room, so you don't have to water them for 1.5 months of rest.

Fertilizer: From April to August, sour is fed with liquid fertilizers for indoor plants. Feeding is carried out in two to three weeks.

Humidity: In spring and summer, it is necessary to spray regularly. But if the humidity is not lower than 45%, the sour is quite complete without moisture.

Transplantation: Annually in spring into a light soil mixture consisting of 1 part of turf, 1 part of leaf, 2 part of peat, 1 part of humus and 1 part of sand.

Reproduction: Propagated in nodules.

By the way

The name of this genus comes from the Greek word oxys - sharp, acidic. This is explained by the fact that oxalic acid is contained in the cell juice of the acid.

By the way

Sour is not only related to indoor plants, it is successfully grown on balconies and in the garden. At the same time, planting acidity of several varieties with different colors of flowers in a planter or flower bed, you can get a very colorful composition.

By the way

In pots and flower beds, nodules of sour can be planted at any time. Calculating the timing of flowering, it should be borne in mind that the full development cycle from the moment of planting nodules takes an average of 40 days. So Depp's sourness, which is most often grown as a houseplant, after transplantation in the spring can bloom all summer until late autumn.

By the way

Nodules of sour are planted in March 6-10 pieces in one pot, covered with a centimeter layer of earth on top. Ortgis's sourness is propagated not only by nodules, but also by cuttings.

By the way

The fact that sourness can be easily found in our forest, not only on sunny glades, but also under the crown of trees, suggests its cultivation as a groundcover for large plants in need of similar growing conditions.

Sour in pots with diffenbachia, dracens, monster, yucca coexists well, if only oblique sun rays fall on it.
