Persimmon, Diospyros sounds in Latin, translated from Greek means "food of the gods." And her homeland is China. Evergreen and deciduous species exist in the genus. Of course, as a houseplant, it is not sold and not grown in wide circles. But many are interested in trying to grow a tree from a bone. In winter, in January, I ate persimmon, planted bones in a temporarily empty (before that, coleus grew there) planter, and a little later, in a planter for amaryllis. The land in both planters is ordinary, bought in the store - universal. Both planters stood on the northwest windows: in the room and in the kitchen. The temperature in the room is 18-19 ° C, near the window is slightly lower, in the kitchen the window is slightly open almost all the time, even in winter. Watering - once every 10-12 days. About a month later, in early February, two growths of persimmon appeared on the window in the kitchen.
Since the coleus came to my senses, I again put him in persimmon. Kashpo moved into the room, it's warmer there. In early March, persimmon dropped its "skin," one sprout died.
But now the growth of this persimmon has stopped. Apparently, the coleus drowns her out. It will be necessary to transplant it into a separate planter. Much later, at the end of April, that is, after almost three months, persimmon sprout also appeared in the amaryllis planter.
The reasons may be, firstly, that the room is warmer, and, secondly, the amaryllis still had citrus fruits planted, they rose much earlier, and I transplanted them into a separate container, after which the persimmon deigned to appear on the surface. In this planter, two persimmons also rose. But the second dies. Apparently they do not live in pairs.
2 weeks after the appearance of the persimmon growth straightened and began to shed the skin.

It is necessary to transplant it too. Why one persimmon develops faster and better, I do not know. Perhaps the neighborhood of the bulbous plant plays a role, perhaps the fact that this persimmon is in a common room where music often sounds. The rest of the conditions are the same. The ground, light and temperature are the same. I never fed them from the landing. Watering is the same - settled water, sometimes infused with shells or tea.
Of course, it all depends on the conditions. The one that develops well for me, it has grown by 19 cm in 2 months. I like the plant. The leaves are large 11Kh6,5 cm. After a couple of months, the trunk begins to chew from below. In general, persimmon grows quickly, it takes a long time, I completely forgot that I put the seed in the ground when it appeared. The one that stopped growing with a coleus precisely because I put a coleus on it. The leaf is not exactly green (however, it may depend on the variety), but with a edging.
As for fruiting - this is not soon. Persimmon grown from the pit, without vaccination and under good conditions, can bloom and be ready to bear fruit at the age of 7-8 years. In general, it would be more correct to get vaccinated, because grown from the seeds of a tree, if they bear fruit, they form trees that do not have a special taste.
How to care for persimmon grown from the bone
First of all, a plant like persimmon needs a lot of space and light. In summer, or better from mid-May to September, it is better to keep it outdoors. Direct sunlight is taught gradually. Although it is a southern plant, it weans itself off the sun during the winter.

Persimmon must be transplanted into a spacious pot in nutritious land. You can take a universal mixture or garden land from the garden and add well-rotted compost to it. Pour drainage on the bottom of the pot.
From March to autumn, persimmon should be fed with fertilizers, you can use any complex mineral fertilizer for flowering plants, where there is not very much nitrogen. Feeding is carried out once every two weeks. If fed only with organic matter or fertilizers for deciduous flowers, persimmon may show signs of a lack of some substances - for example, potassium starvation.
It is necessary to water persimmon abundantly, but the earth must have time to dry out. It is very susceptible to overflow, roots rot.
During the growing season, persimmons must be formed. When the main trunk, which has grown out of the bone, grows up, it must be pinched at a height of 30 cm. In this place, two new branches should start growing - these are first-order shoots. In turn, they are also pinched when they grow 20-25 cm, forming second-order branches.
Subsequently, persimmon grows 1.5-2 m in height, it needs to be cut off annually and periodically turn the pot in relation to the light so that the crown is smoother.
In autumn, persimmon prepares for a dormant period and begins to shed its leaves. Since October, it can be brought into a cold room for wintering. It requires a temperature in the range of 4-5 ° C. Necessarily not higher than 10 ° C, otherwise shoot growth will occur and the plant will be severely depleted.
